DANBALL SENKI W LBX 027 SIGMA ORBIS Review

When I look back my career, of course I was enriched by my private fun life and satisfying job which I tried to launch a toy store in 2007 to 2010, it was my New York era. Today the Japanese toy store which I helped from New York at that time announced that they're going to close the store this year. The store itself has something like 10 years history in Japanese market. First it was located in Harajuku Japan. Then it moved to Daikanyama, finally closed the retail location in 2009. I visited the first Harajuku store twice, it was 5 years ago. The first time was, I think I was still a student...
It is such a pity that a company which always seeks to make a money constantly decide to kick out a tiny side-business. The fact itself is reasonable business strategy, however I really still cannot accept the store closing.
To help that store was everything for me during my New York time. I remember I bought numerous Sesame Street toys at Toysrus Times Square, then export 'em to Japan for Christmas gift season. It was 2009, maybe.
From 2010 to 2011, I first visited to San Diego Comic Con for assistance of  our original items release at Toy Tokyo New York booth. At that time, everything what I was seeing was so shiny, I felt like I was doing what I really had to do. I joined toy and art related culture events every week in New York. Some was held in Staples, Toy Tokyo and my plastic heart, of course ZAKKA also. These stores were always expressing latest New York street culture.
I really feel sad, by writing this post, by looking back my 3 years New York stay. I believe what I did with the store's staff in New York and Japan never would be wasting time. Every experience is inside our hearts. I believe we can start walking now with that. Time has come right now.

今日は一昨日大須のボークスさんにて購入したダンボール戦機Wの新しい合体ＬＢＸ、シグマオービスを組んでいました。

しかしこの「シグマ」「オービス」ってネーミング、何でしょうかね??　オービスと聞くとあの高速とかの清算システムを思い浮かべますよね?　英語の響きでなんとなくネーミングしたんでしょうけど、なんでこんな変な名前にしたんだ???

それで、変なのは名前だけでなく、機体カラーも3体のＬＢＸ合体という整合性を持たせるためのカラー配分なのですが、これがまたゴチャゴチャ、ゴテゴテしておりまとまりが無い…。

ということで今回は、というか今回も、先回制作したルシファー同様に、デフォルトのカラー設定完全無視で塗る事にしました。多分このトサカを白く塗ってしまうという暴挙に出ているのは私だけでしょう。

今回の制作にあたり、筆数本とタミヤアクリルカラーのメタリックブルーを購入しました。メタリックブルーはサックスというよりは深みのある渋いコバルトで、艶消しのホワイトとともにゴチャゴチャしたボディをかなりしっかりと引き締めてくれそうです。

 とりあえずは2日で何とかここまで。ダンボール戦機のプラモは組み方こそチビッコが簡単にできるような配慮がなされていますが、塗りに関しては超難易度高いです。パーツ分割とかも基本無く、これをチマチマ塗って⇒修正して、というのに本当に時間がかかります。

来週中には完成できるかと。カラー配分の参考は海老川氏のダブルオークアンタですが、カトキ氏のウイングゼロカスタムに見えてきたな…。
